Dear Network Viewer:
On behalf of the Thousand Islands Middle School, I welcome you to our TIMS web page. Our school is located in Northern Jefferson County, New York. The district is bounded on the west by Lake Ontario and on the north by St. Lawrence River.
We have 350 students in Grades 6-8 attending our school. Although I have been an administrator in our district for 28 years, this is my third year at the middle school level. We have an excellent staff who have been recognized by the state of New York Board of Regents as a compact Partnership School for their accomplishments with students. Our school structure involves integrated teaming at each level with team planning time provided each day. We use block scheduling to assist extension of time needs for students and have standards expected.
While we have had success in past years, as noticed by previous state reference points, we are currently working to raise students to a higher standard to prepare them for their high school and work experiences in the future.
