*Competition will be conducted in accordance with the rules of the USFSA governing non-qualifying competitions, and will be governed by the official rules of the USFSA as specified in the 1999-2000 RULE BOOK, except as modified by this announcement.
The Competition Committee reserves the right to limit the size of each event, and to cancel any event with less than three entrants. Entry fees will be refunded in this case.
*One copy of the competition schedule will be faxed to each participating club. Individuals will need to get flight information from HOME CLUB CONTACT .
*This competition is open to eligible skaters, who are in good standing with the USFSA or CFSA and their home clubs, who are individual members.
* REFUND of entry fees: Entry fees shall be refunded only if the competition is not held, or if entry is withdrawn before the closing date of entries(CR.33.06).
*ACCIDENTS: Clayton Arena , the Town of Clayton , and the Clayton Figure Skating Club , its officers and representatives, accept NO responsibility for damage or injuries suffered by skaters, officials, or spectators during any event in this competition(CR.10.12).
*ELIGIBILITY: Skaters eligibility will be determined by the highest freestyle or dance test passed as of DECEMBER 1, 1999. Flights will be selected on a random basis. Skaters may skate up in any event, but not skate below their test level.
*All events will be held INDOORS at:
*Rink Size: 200` x 85`
* Music will be supplied by the competition Committee for INTERPRETIVE and DANCE. Competitors must provide all other music recorded on cassette tape and labeled with their name, home club, and side to be played. Tapes must be REWOUND. Tapes must be turned in to Registration desk ONE HOUR BEFORE EVENT. A duplicate tape is recommended to avoid problems.
*Results: Copies will be available at the Registration Desk for .25 cents /copy.
*Awards: Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. Ribbons shall be awarded for 4th and 5th places. All places will be awarded in all BADGE events. PRECISION TEAMS placing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places shall receive trophies. All teams will receive ribbons. A team trophy will be awarded to the Club that receives the most competition points-excluding precision events. Home club does not vie for the trophy.

Individual Compulsory Moves
Skaters through JUVENILE should be prepared to use half ice surface if necessary. No music will be used. Judging will be based on technical merit only. Same eligibility as freestyle. MOVES LIMITED TO THOSE LISTED and MUST BE SKATED IN ORDER. Combination jumps at all levels MAY NOT have a step or turn between.

Short Program

This event will be judged on INTERPRETATION of the music. Two marks will be given (one for TECHNICAL merit and one for COMPOSITION and STYLE). Skaters will be penalized for more than 3 single jumps and more than 3 spins. AXELS and DOUBLE JUMPS will be allowed at Juvenile and above levels only. No costumes or props will be allowed. Same eligibility as Freestyle events. Competition committee will provide the music.

An Artistic program shall contain a variety of skating moves. These moves should be selected for their value in enhancing the choreographic interpretation of the music rather than for their technical merit or difficulty. Only single jumps will be permitted. Any type of music may be used, including VOCAL. Costumes should be tastefully selected to enhance the mood of the program. Props may not be used. Marks will be awarded for CREATIVITY and MUSICALITY. Same eligibility as freestyle.
CREATIVITY: Judges consider presentation of theme, establishment of theme, use of body language/communication of theme, total body movement, use of skating moves, innovative moves, and overall strength and sureness of skating.
MUSICALITY: Judges consider suitability of music to theme, choreographic interpretation of the character and structure of the music , ability to vary skating to suit the requirements of the music, sequencing and distribution of highlights, utilization of space, ease and sureness of timing, and expression of individual temperament.

Showcases will be judges on: Music, Interpretation, Audience Appeal, Skating Performance, Choreography, and Costume.

Juvenile
Forward sit spin (4 rev), ladies: layback or attitude spin(4rev) or men: forwards camel spin(4rev), combination spin with one change of foot (4rev/foot)-camel , sit, attitude, or layback.
Intermediate
Sit spin to change foot spin (4rev/foot in position), camel sto back camel (4 rev/foot in position), spin combination consisting of one change of foot and one change of position (4 rev/foot in position).
Novice
Camel, sit or layback (6 rev in position), flying camel(5 rev), spin combination consisting of one change of foot and one change of position (5 rev/foot ).
Junior
Flying sit or flying change (reverse) sit spin (6 rev in position), layback or cross foot spin(6 rev), spin combination consisting of three positions and one change of foot(5 rev/position).
Senior
At least four spins (solo spins must be 6 rev/position)-One must be a flying spin and one must be a spin combination consisting of at least two positions and at least one change of foot (minimum of 10 total rev).
Team Compulsory Moves
This event consists of teams of 3 to 5 skaters, male or female. No skater may perform more than two moves. Judging will be based on technical merit only. Skaters should be prepared to use ½ ice. Same eligibility as freestyle.
Badge A Backwards skating, forward crossovers, gliding backwards on one foot, any stop, bending over and touching ankles while gliding. Synchronized Skating
Teams must be registered with USFSA/CFSA. Registration numbers are required on entry form. ELIGIBILITY: USFSA Rule book (CR 47.00), REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS: USFSA Rule Book (CR 48.01), CONDUCT USFSA Rule Book (CR 53-57.01). All Ages are as of 7/1/99.**
Preliminary 8-16 skaters, 75% must be 9 years old or younger. Up to 25% may be 11 years old or younger.***Program length: 2 minutes.
